Jessica Devi

Jessica is a Trauma Informed movement and wellbeing practitioner and has been practicing, discovering and studying health through movement, conscious dance and yoga for over 20 years. Jessica is passionate about facilitating a personalised approach for each person in a way that is unique to their body, mind, history and hopes.

Jessica is a sensitive, warm and knowledgeable teacher with a wealth of experience in heath, holistic fitness and well being. Through the integration of mindful movement, breath practices and awareness techniques Jessica will support you to find – not only the best version of yourself but also a life that is deeper and more connected.

“I continue to be inspired by the endless possibility yoga and movement practice presents and have first hand experience in their healing power, both within my own body and mind and the bodies and minds of those I have had the privilege of working with. I truly believe we have the power to heal and transform ourselves; body, mind and spirit and to discover new and more sustainable ways in which to be in our world.”

Jessica is drawn to both traditional and modern yoga, dance and movement practices that are sustainable, authentic and therapeutic in nature. She draws from these to create both group and individual classes/sessions in which the emphasis is on listening to our inner wisdom, nourishing our bodies and minds and creating long term, life-sustaining, change, growth and development.

Jessica is available for private, individual, small group or corporate sessions and, as the owner of Yoga Within, teaches many weekly group classes at the studio.

“I look forward to sharing these profoundly simple and effective practices with you in a class or session soon.”

“My own Yoga journey began in the early 90’s while traveling, and spending time in North America.

After returning home from my travels I undertook a 3 year Bachelors degree with a major in Contemporary Dance. The physically and emotionally demanding nature of this course of study required a practice which supported, nourished and refueled my body and mind. Enter………yoga.

From there I went on to become a 500hr certified yoga teacher, through Ashram Yoga New Zealand, and have completed many trainings, workshops and courses of study in the fields of Yoga, Mindful Movement, Movement Therapy and Trauma Sensitive practices.

I continue to be inspired by the endless possibility yoga and movement practice presents and have first hand experience in their healing power, both within my own body and mind and the bodies and minds of those I have had the privilege of working with. Rani Michelle

Rani is a dedicated yogi, dancer and movement lover. Her curiosity for yoga and meditation began over 15 years ago. Rani found that regular practice creates an overall state of well being and she continues to be committed to her studies and practice. Rani has been teaching yoga for over 7 years in Australia and New Zealand. She also facilitates dance and empowering journeys into the sacred feminine.

Rani is interested in how yoga practice relates to our everyday life experiences and how yoga teachings influence and support our lifestyle, health and wellbeing. For Rani yoga is a way to know and understand oneself.

Through movement and self-inquiry we can develop the awareness to access our somatic wisdom, which is the wisdom of our bodies on a cellular level. Rani’s goal as a facilitator is to inspire and guide others into self-empowerment through movement and connecting to their inner truth. She encourages her students to cultivate a deeper connection to self, to their authenticity and their wholeness. Which in turn creates a deeper connection to others and the environment around us.

Rani offers a playful practice that has an emphasis on breath and alignment. She focuses on cultivating a balance of strength and ease. Rani is experienced at teaching to who is in the room, accommodating all levels of practice.

Rani is also available for private sessions, contact us for more information or to book a session with Rani.

Jo Eng

I am inspired to teach yoga because yoga for me is about bringing life into balance: balancing the mind, the body and the emotions.

Our lives are so full, so busy and often so stressful. We get caught up in all this ‘doing’ and we lose touch with how to simply ‘be’.

I am inspired to help people find more balance on the mat, so they can take their experience out of the studio and into their real lives.

I hope to empower people to find more connection, more awareness and greater equanimity.
I teach with the belief that yoga is medicine – that the powerful combination of mindful movement, breathing and meditation can be used as a therapeutic healing tool to release and relieve us of many of the injuries, illnesses and mental/emotional conditions associated with our modern way of living.

My classes are always delivered with a big smile, warm enthusiasm and a genuine desire to assist others in achieving optimal health for a vibrant life.

Jennie Jackson

I was hooked after my first Yoga class 20+ years ago! The buzz and feeling of joy I felt and connection with my mind and energy gave me an exciting insight into the many benefits of Yoga.

My training began with 6 months Iyengar Teacher Training in 2005 with North Shore Yoga…then my long awaited son decided to arrive! I attended a workshop with Mr. Iyengar’s daughter, Geeta in 2003 and have attended many workshops and retreats to deepen my practise and knowledge.

Years later, I took a different Yogic path & completed a Holistic Hatha style Teacher Training at Ashram Yoga studying their Level 1 RYT 200hr. This style includes breath/pranayama practices, meditation and guided relaxations alongside the more familiar Asana/posture practice. In Jan 2017 I completed a 150hr Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga Teacher Training at Kawai Purapura in Albany.

I strongly believe “if you can breathe, you can do Yoga” and am passionate about bringing Yoga to everyBODY. I am no stranger to physical limitations being born with severe club feet, having many surgeries and continued challenges. More recently, my disability entailed more surgery, rapidly decreasing mobility and increasing pain – then along came a life changing miraculous prosthetic leg device from the USA that enables me to live pain free.

I am now walking half marathons and doing 108 rounds of sun salute! Due to this life experience, I have empathy and compassion for students with physical challenges and am excited about adapting Yoga to enable everyBODY to enjoy the many benefits of this wonderful practice.

To combat internal negativity so rife in our modern mindset I encourage self-kindness, love & compassion in my classes. I bring self-awareness and intuition into play which kick that inner critic to the kerb!

Selina Gilbert

Selina is a dedicated yogini who is committed to a positive lifestyle and well-being, which she loves to share with her students.

Selina began practising yoga with her mum when she was 15 years old. After a few years of casual practice, she tried a power yoga class with a friend and felt an immediate connection with the practice.

This connection grew deeper when she observed the valuable and enriching effects on her life ‘off the mat’ – physically, mentally, and emotionally. As a result, Selina completed a 2-year apprenticeship at the Auckland Yoga Academy, comprising 2,000 hours of intensive training in classes with real students, culminating in registration as a Yoga Alliance 500 hours yoga teacher (RYT 500 hours) in 2009. In January 2014, she gained accreditation as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200 hours).

Selina’s classes will nourish your mind, body, and soul, and are suitable for a wide range of practitioners, from new beginners to advanced yogis, with a variety of options given during every class.

“You will laugh, you will fall over, you will try things that scare you. And in the end, I hope you will leave as a lighter, freer, and calmer version of you.”
